Notes & Words with Anthony Crawford and Daniel Wallace
Anthony left Mountain Brook for Nashville almost 4 decades ago. He became what he is now, a multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter, who has worked with many well-known musicians in the studio, onstage and as a songwriter including Neil Young, Steve Winwood, Steve Forbert, Dwight Yokam and Vince Gill to drop just a few names. More importantly he now plays in the band Sugarcane Jane with his bride Savana Lee and the mother of their children Dusty, Levon and Loretta. He has many albums to his credit several available for purchase this very minute.
Daniel grew up on Balmoral, graduated from BUS and is author of six novels, including Big Fish (1998), Ray in Reverse (2000), The Watermelon King (2003), Mr. Sebastian and the Negro Magician (2007), The Kings and Queens of Roam (2013), and most recently Extraordinary Adventures (May 2017). His children’s book, published in 2014, and for which he did both the words and the pictures, is called The Cat’s Pajamas. In 2003 Big Fish was adapted and released as a Tim Burton directed movie which became and remains a cult classic and then in 2013 the book and the movie were mish-mashed together and became a Broadway musical. His novels have been translated into over two-dozen languages.
Daniel is the J. Ross MacDonald Distinguished Professor of English at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, his alma mater, where he directs the Creative Writing Program.

Pensacola Hot Wheels Food Truck Festival
Local food trucks featuring signature dishes from a variety of cooking styles and flavors come together in Downtown Pensacola. This free event features an eclectic mix of food truck signature dishes, live music, and a Hot Wheels Food Truck Tasting competition.
Pensacola Hot Wheels Food Truck Festival is a charity event to benefit Pensacola Habitat for Humanity. Pensacola Habitat for Humanity will welcome families, food lovers, adventure seekers and Habitat supporters to its third annual Food Truck Festival in support of its work.
Since 1981, Pensacola Habitat for Humanity has been working to build not just homes – Pensacola Habitat is building community – one home, one block, one neighborhood at a time.
Proceeds from the event will be used to further Pensacola Habitat for Humanity’s mission of building homes, community, and hope. Our two, three and four bedroom energy efficient homes are built with the help of teams of construction volunteers in neighborhoods throughout Escambia and Santa Rosa counties and sold to qualifying homebuyers with a zero percent interest loan. We have built over 1,200 such homes here in our community. And recently, Pensacola Habitat has expanded its work to include helping neighborhoods to organize and improve existing homes and neighborhoods through neighborhood revitalization efforts.
Your support of Pensacola Hot Wheels Food Truck Festival is not only a fun way to promote your own organization, it is an investment in local families and a healthier, more sustainable community.
“"Bottom line: One of the best Nashville duos since Johnny and June."”
“"This is one of the liveliest, most engaging Americana CDs you're likely to hear this or any year."”
“"Indeed, every move these two make, whether as Sugarcane Jane or as a part of the Americana group from Lower Alabama, Willie Sugarcapps, they seemingly can not put a musical foot wrong."”
All Time High, Sugarcane Jane's sixth studio album is a treasure chest of rare cuts given a fresh facelift and some incredible covers that Sugarcane Jane is so well known for. Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Anthony Crawford at Admiral Bean Studio. Released April 5, 2018. Dedicated to the memory of Sara Beasley Davie.
