Sugarcane Jane, otherwise known as Anthony Crawford and Savana Lee from L.A. (Loxley, Alabama)— have been Americana’s go-to husband-wife duo from Alabama’s Gulf Coast for over a decade. Between them, they have amassed a rich musical heritage working with such notables as Neil Young, Steve Winwood, and Dwight Yoakam. The music they make together is simple and direct, rooted in country and rock, and anchored by their sweet and soulful harmonies.
After a request from Dwight Yoakam to put a backing band behind the already succesful Sugarcane Jane duo and open shows on his 2019 Northeast Tour, the Bucket Fillers were born. Longtime friend and former bandmate of Anthony's, Pete Nice on pedal steel, lap steel, and mandolin, Gary Edmonds on electric guitar, and Leif Bondarenko, another former bandmate of Anthony's, on drums. Sugarcane Jane and the Bucket Fillers LIVE was recorded at Fairfield Studios in Shreveport, Louisiana during a house concert on September 8, 2019. This is Sugarcane Jane's eighth album and first ever LIVE album. The twelve song recording captures the essence and energy of a full band at the top of their game.
